Everything on this page is live and anonymous — no API keys. Agents can research the catalog, answer MUTCD questions, build carts, hand a buyer to checkout, and submit real quote requests to our human sales desk.

-   **Cart, checkout, catalog search, Shopify order status:** Shopify's UCP shopping MCP at `https://shop.trafficthingz.com/api/ucp/mcp` (13 tools; Streamable HTTP). Payment completion is trust-tiered — general-access agents hand the buyer the cart's `checkout_url`.
-   **Store knowledge Shopify can't answer:** our first-party MCP at `/api/mcp` (also served at `/.well-known/mcp`) — `get_capabilities`, `check_mutcd_code`, `get_product_specs` (byte-equal to each product's `.md` twin), `recommend_sheeting`, `request_quote` (routes to the human quote desk — the desk replies to the buyer's email), and `order_status` (legacy pre-2026 orders). Start with `get_capabilities`.
-   **Rate limits:** reads 30/min per IP; `request_quote` 3/min per IP, one per request (never batched).

## Markdown twins & content negotiation

-   Every content page serves a markdown twin at its path plus `.md` — including every product page (full spec block, variant SKUs and prices, documents, quote URL).
-   Requesting a content URL with `Accept: text/markdown` redirects (307) to its twin. Missing markdown paths return a real `404` in `text/markdown` with recovery links.
-   [/products/index.md](https://www.trafficthingz.com/products/index.md) is the compact whole-catalog index with prices; category twins (e.g. `/collections/<slug>.md`) group full spec blocks per category.

## Public JSON APIs

-   `POST /api/order-lookup` with `order` and `email` — legacy-order status (both must match; enumeration-safe). Same lookup the [order-status page](https://www.trafficthingz.com/order-status) uses.
-   Product structured data: every priced product page carries schema.org `Product` JSON-LD with `offers` (USD), and MUTCD codes as `productID` where applicable.

-   Answering spec questions from the curated catalog: `check_mutcd_code` for code → products, `get_product_specs` for the full spec block, `recommend_sheeting` for ASTM D4956 grade selection.
